This symposium will assess the current state and look into the future of bioremediation and related technologies as we move towards more sustainable approaches to remediation, production, and other human activities. The program covers innovative and sustainable technologies that can be integrated with bioremediation, emerging issues related to bioremediation, and biology-based fuels. Among new topics for 2013 is a session on biological and sustainability issues related to hydraulic fracturing. Scientists, engineers, regulators, site managers, and other environmental professionals, representing universities, government agencies, consultants, and R&D and service firms from around the world are expected to attend.
