The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Paint Technology Technical Center of Expertise (PTCx) is the certified as subject matter expert in all things coatings related for the U.S. Army Corps. The PTCx is the only functioning paint laboratory within the DoD that specifically addresses infrastructure, automatically making it the center of expertise DoD wide. Along with the several services it provides to the field, the PTCx has a robust, multimillion dollar R&D programs, spanning from basic research to full scale demonstration of innovative technology. Because of its universal platform, coatings provide the ability to provide advanced, expedient technology in the shop or after market. The PTCx has active projects that extend from coating removal, surface preparation and coating formulation to provide holistic approaches to corrosion mitigation. This session reviewed the PTCx as a center and highlight the R&D activities.
