Military installations cannot function without electricity. The U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) mission is under increasing threat as the power from the commercial grid faces growing risks that can lead to power outages. This report provides a quantitative techno-economic analysis of the ability of two different emerging multi-day LDES systems and a Li-ion ESS coupled to an on-base PV system, to meet DoD’s 14-day requirement.
