Thermal In Situ Sustainable Remediation (TISR®) To Enhance Biotic and Abiotic Reactions and Accelerate Remediation Timeframes
This is a Guidance Document developed under ESTCP project, “Thermal In Situ Sustainable Remediation (TISR) to Enhance Biotic and Abiotic Reactions and Accelerate Remediation”. TISR® is an innovative and sustainable remediation technology designed to enhance the degradation of chemicals in the subsurface by increasing the temperature of the target treatment zones. TISR utilizes renewable energy sources, such as solar radiation and waste heat, to heat the subsurface, thereby accelerating both biotic (microbial) and abiotic (chemical) reactions that degrade chemicals.
