The Application of Advanced Geophysical Classification in Support of Munitions Response Program - An Outreach to Federal, State and Local Regulators and Tribal Governments
Advanced geophysical classification uses advanced sensors and geophysical classifiers to estimate physical properties of the item (e.g., depth, size, aspect ratio, wall thickness, symmetry) and determine whether the item is a TOI (i.e., highly likely to be MEC) or non-TOI (i.e., highly unlikely to be MEC). Using the information provided in this final report slide package in a structured decision-making process, project teams will be able to make informed decisions about whether an item should be excavated or can be left in place.
