SERDP hosted a Munitions Response in the Underwater Environment Workshop at the University of Delaware from April 11-13, 2023. Researchers gave presentations on the state of knowledge of munitions mobility, burial, and exhumation (MBE). Subsequent breakout sessions focused on knowledge gaps, modeling capabilities, and the concept of a demonstration project. The major workshop goal was to chart future SERDP/ESTCP munitions MBE research that leads to an operational model for wave-dominated, sandy, nearshore environments.
